When my wife and I packed our lives into boxes and moved from southern Mississippi to St. Croix, we were excited—but we also had a lot of questions.
Like many people relocating to or visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands, we spent countless hours searching for information online. Some websites were helpful. Others were outdated. Many answered only part of the question we were asking.
As I explored the island over the following months, I found myself wishing there was one place that combined practical advice, beautiful photography, local discoveries, and honest experiences.
That idea eventually became USVI Life.
Today, the website includes guides for visitors, resources for those considering a move, photography from around the islands, hidden gems, scenic viewpoints, restaurant recommendations, and stories inspired by everyday life in the Caribbean.
But after publishing more and more articles, I realized something. Many people weren’t reading USVI Life while sitting at a computer. They were reading it while planning a vacation, relaxing at the beach, sitting in a restaurant, or exploring St. Croix.
That’s when I decided to build something new. The USVI Life app.
Bringing USVI Life With You
The goal wasn’t to recreate the website. It was to make it easier to enjoy.
Whether you’re planning your first visit, returning for another vacation, or already lucky enough to call the islands home, I wanted the app to feel like a companion you could carry with you.
Instead of opening a browser and searching through bookmarks, you can simply open the app and start exploring.

Built From the Ground Up
One thing you may not know is that I designed and developed the app myself. As a product designer and developer, I enjoy creating experiences that are clean, intuitive, and enjoyable to use.
That same philosophy guided every decision in the USVI Life app. I wanted it to feel fast. Simple. And focused on the content rather than unnecessary distractions.
My goal was to create something that feels just as relaxing as spending a day on the island itself.
Why I Keep Building
USVI Life has always been more than a travel website. It’s a passion project.
Every article is written from personal experience. Every recommendation is a place I’ve visited. Every photograph is one I’ve taken while exploring these beautiful islands.
The app is simply another way to share that passion.
