Each Thursday from 5:00–8:00 PM during the months of November through May, Christiansted’s historic boardwalk and nearby alleys transform into an open-air gallery for Art Thursday. Since its launch in 2017, this free weekly art walk has become a beloved local tradition—drawing visitors and Crucian residents alike to explore the island’s thriving art scene.

What Is Art Thursday?

Art Thursday is a self-guided evening event showcasing 16 local galleries and studios. Participating venues open their doors late, featuring special exhibitions, artist talks, live music, and light refreshments. No tickets or advance registration are required—simply download the map, pick your starting point, and meander from site to site at your own pace.

How to Participate

  1. Grab the Map. Download or view the interactive map here.
  2. Plan Your Route. All locations are within a 10-minute stroll of the Christiansted Harbor and Fort Christiansvaern.
  3. Start Walking. Most venues are clustered around Queen Street, Strand Street, Company Street, and King Cross Street—look for the event banners at gallery entrances.
  4. Engage with Artists. Chat with studio owners, watch live demos, and pick up limited-edition prints or handmade jewelry.
